Sebaceous hyperplasia is a skin condition characterized by the sebaceous glands within the dermal layer of the skin becoming excessively enlarged or proliferating.

Typically, many procedures involve only laser removal of the visible lesions.

While this approach may seem to bring temporary external improvement,

the sebaceous glands causing the lesion remain, and there is always a possibility of recurrence.

Our medical team therefore considers a different approach.

While removing the visible lesions, we also focus on managing the underlying internal cause to reduce the likelihood of recurrence.

Beyond simply improving the superficial symptoms,

we aim to simultaneously address both the root cause and current symptoms of sebaceous hyperplasia.

For this integrated approach, we utilize two different treatment devices.

1. Secret Agnes RF (Insulated High-Frequency 1-Pin Needle)

By directly applying high-frequency energy to the affected sebaceous glands,

this contributes to selectively regulating problematic sebaceous glands.

Using an insulated needle helps reduce damage to the skin surface or surrounding healthy tissue,

while precisely delivering energy to the sebaceous glands.

This treatment is expected to play a key role in managing the root cause of sebaceous hyperplasia.

2. Erbium YAG Laser (Er:YAG)

The Erbium YAG laser is a resurfacing treatment that allows for delicate depth control,

and can be used to gently refine protruding lesions.

It causes relatively less tissue damage, reducing the burden of recovery time, and can help minimize the possibility of scar formation after treatment.

If necessary, CO2 laser can be combined to effectively treat even relatively deep-seated lesions.

CO2 Monotherapy Resurfacing: Focuses on refining the visible surface, but the sebaceous gland body remains, potentially leading to recurrence.

Combined Treatment: Manages the sebaceous glands themselves while improving superficial lesions, which can help reduce the risk of recurrence.
